Our creative partnership began in Nikopol seven years ago. At the time, we were both exploring our paths and experimenting with different forms of creative expression. As new opportunities emerged, we gradually moved beyond our own studio and began actively collaborating with the city’s Department of Culture. Together, we helped bring the city’s cultural events to a new level.
We had been interested in wood-fired kilns for a long time. In 2020, we left our urban studio behind and created a ceramic residency outside the city. We built our own wood-fired kiln inspired by the traditional Japanese Anagama kiln.
Today, Gudenky is open to ceramic research and experimentation. The residency provides equipped workspaces and kilns, a spacious studio, and technical support, allowing artists to focus on their work in a creative and supportive environment where they can explore and develop new ideas.
The studio offers a residency program for artists who want to work independently on their own projects. Alongside the residency program, we also organize a range of thematic activities, including symposia, courses, talks, and workshops.
